Infinity Nikki: A Behind-the-Scenes Look at the Open-World Fashion Adventure
A new behind-the-scenes documentary reveals the journey behind the highly anticipated open-world fashion game, Infinity Nikki, launching December 4th (EST/PST) on PC, PlayStation, and mobile. This 25-minute video showcases the dedication and passion of the development team.
The project, shrouded in secrecy since its inception in December 2019, involved creating a unique blend of the established Nikki IP's dress-up mechanics with a fully realized open-world environment. Game designer Sha Dingyu describes the challenge of integrating these seemingly disparate elements, highlighting the years of research and development required to build the game's foundation from the ground up.
The documentary emphasizes the team's commitment to pushing the boundaries of the Nikki franchise, expanding beyond its mobile origins to a new platform. The producer's dedication is evident in his creation of a clay model of the Grand Millewish Tree, symbolizing the team's vision and passion.
The video offers glimpses into the vibrant world of Miraland, focusing on the mystical Grand Millewish Tree and its inhabitants, including the Faewish Sprites. Game designer Xiao Li highlights the detail in NPC routines, creating a dynamic and immersive world that continues to evolve even during player missions.

Infinity Nikki's impressive visuals are a testament to the talent assembled for this project. In addition to the core Nikki team, the developers brought on international experts, including Lead Sub Director Kentaro "Tomiken" Tominaga (The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild) and concept artist Andrzej Dybowski (The Witcher 3).
