Holding On To Marvel’s Wolverine Updates

Insomniac Games unveiled their future roadmap, yet they've chosen to remain tight-lipped about any new developments concerning their eagerly awaited title, Marvel’s Wolverine. In a recent interview with Variety, Co-Head Chad Dezern emphasized that while the studio is embarking on ambitious new projects, they're committed to their current endeavors. However, Dezern wouldn't confirm or deny a 2025 release for "Marvel’s Wolverine," stating, "As much as we have pent up excitement, we got to hold on to it."

Marvel’s Wolverine First Announced in 2021

Marvel’s Wolverine was first unveiled during the PlayStation Showcase 2021. Insomniac introduced the game through a captivating cinematic teaser trailer, confirming its development for the PlayStation 5. In a 2023 interview with the YouTube group Kinda Funny, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2’s Creative Director Bryan Intihar revealed that Marvel’s Wolverine is set in the same universe as Marvel’s Spider-Man, specifically in the 1048 universe. Although fans anticipated a crossover event or joint teasers due to the simultaneous announcements at PlayStation Showcase 2021, the only nod so far has been a Wolverine-themed suit, "The Best There Is," available for Miles Morales in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2.

In December 2023, Insomniac Games suffered a targeted ransomware attack, which temporarily exposed Marvel’s Wolverine’s development assets and gameplay showcase to the public.

Insomniac Games Current Projects

Insomniac Games has announced that Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 will be coming to PC on January 30, 2025, as revealed at New York Comic-Con 2025. They've also put to rest any speculation about future DLCs for the game, stating that there are "no additional story content planned for Marvel's Spider-Man 2." However, the PC port will include all updates from the PS5 version, such as new suits, New Game+, and more. The game will be available in two versions: Standard and Digital Deluxe Edition, which includes exclusive suits for both Peter Parker and Miles Morales.
