Rome's newest and largest video game museum, GAMM (Game Museum), has officially opened its doors to the public. Located in Piazza della Repubblica, this exciting new venture is the creation of Marco Accordi Rickards, a writer, journalist, professor, and CEO of Vigamus.

Rickards, a passionate advocate for preserving video game history and culture, describes GAMM as an immersive journey blending historical context, technological advancements, and interactive gameplay exploration. The museum builds upon the legacy of Vigamus, another successful Rome-based gaming museum that has attracted over two million visitors since 2012.

GAMM boasts a spacious 700 square meter area spread across two floors, featuring three distinct thematic zones:

Exploring GAMM's Interactive Exhibits:

• GAMMDOME: A dynamic digital playground combining interactive stations with authentic gaming artifacts, including vintage consoles and donated memorabilia. This section adheres to the 4E concept: Experience, Exhibition, Education, and Entertainment.

• PARC (Path of Arcadia): A nostalgic trip back to the golden age of arcade gaming, showcasing classic coin-op games from the late 1970s through the 1980s, with a touch of early 1990s nostalgia.

• HIP (Historical Playground): This zone delves into the mechanics of game design, allowing visitors to analyze game structures, interaction mechanics, and design principles. Think of it as a behind-the-scenes look at the evolution of gaming.

GAMM is open Monday through Thursday from 9:30 AM to 7:30 PM, and Fridays and Saturdays until 11:30 PM. Tickets cost 15 euros. For more information, visit the official GAMM website.
