Hazelight Studios' Josef Fares recently revealed key details about their upcoming title, Split Fiction, in an interview. Reiterating previous statements, Fares underscored Hazelight's dedication to a traditional game model, eschewing live-service elements and microtransactions. The studio has no plans for an IPO or acquisition:

"We're not going public. No microtransactions. We focus solely on delivering great gaming experiences."

In a conversation with MinnMax, Fares stated that Split Fiction's main story arc clocks in at approximately 12-14 hours, comparable to It Takes Two. With optional objectives and extra content included, the total playtime could reach 16-17 hours.

While Hazelight is known for its cooperative games, Fares hinted at the potential for future single-player projects. He mentioned that Split Fiction's development budget doubled that of It Takes Two, yet the studio is forgoing post-launch DLC, guaranteeing all content is available from launch. Split Fiction will be released worldwide on March 6th for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S.
