The First Berserker: Khazan’s New Trailer Highlights Different Boss Fights

During the IGN Fan Fest on February 27, 2025, South Korean developer Neople treated fans to a new gameplay trailer for The First Berserker: Khazan. The trailer showcased Khazan engaging in battles against an umbrella-wielding boss and two other formidable beasts.

The umbrella-wielding boss appears to play a significant role in the game's narrative, as evidenced by a brief cutscene shown before the fight. Although the HUD was not visible during the battle, the trailer introduced two other bosses: Shactuka, a wolf-like creature, and the Specter of Bhangau, a ram-like beast wielding a hammer and spike.

Possible Awakened Form

A highlight of the trailer was Khazan's transformation into what appears to be an awakened form. This new form deviates from his usual samurai-like appearance, enveloping him in full body armor with a striking red glow. In this state, Khazan wields a variety of weapons, executing a range of powerful attacks.

While Khazan already has multiple combat options, his awakened form significantly enhances his attack speed and power. The trailer demonstrated the game's combat mechanics, including blocking projectiles, parrying, and executing fast-paced combos. However, the effectiveness of Khazan's attacks on the bosses seemed limited, reflecting the game's challenging Souls-like elements.

Although Neople has not officially confirmed details about this awakened form, the trailer suggests it will enable Khazan to unleash devastating damage and perform extensive combos with different weapons.

The First Berserker: Khazan offers a free demo on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, allowing players to experience the first two missions. The full game is slated for release on March 27, 2025, across these platforms.
