When King of Crabs launched in 2019, it quickly gained a following thanks to its quirky yet captivating concept. It was a battle royale—but starring crabs. Now, developer Robot Squid is diving back into crustacean chaos with something even bigger. The new title is King of Crabs – Invasion.

From Epic Crab Battle Royale to Epic Crab Warfare

In this fresh take, Robot Squid has shifted the format. Rather than jumping into a chaotic tidepool against 99 other players, the game adopts a real-time strategy style. They've essentially reimagined the original free-for-all as a compact RTS.

Just like before, you command crabs into battle in King of Crabs – Invasion. However, instead of scrambling for weapons or consuming smaller creatures to grow, you now deploy units tactically across a linear battlefield.

You can choose from standard crab soldiers, catapults, and tank-like crabs armed with maces. The goal is to overpower your opponent before they overrun your side of the map. Success often depends on the terrain and random obstacles thrown your way.

King of Crabs – Invasion Is on Android

The game is already available in Australia, Canada, Hong Kong, Vietnam, and Singapore. For players worldwide, the Android version arrives on May 30—just three days from now. Think of it as a spin-off of the original game.

Speaking of which, King of Crabs was the debut title from Robot Squid, a British indie studio founded in 2018. They partnered with Spilt Milk Studios to launch it in 2020 for Microsoft Windows, Android, and iOS. At its peak, some even dubbed it "Fortnite with claws."
