在最近Twitch直播的展示活动中，Warhorse Studios的公关主管Tobias Stolz-Zwilling澄清说，《王国之泪2》不会使用Denuvo DRM或任何其他DRM系统，并回应了玩家们关于该工具的疑问和“错误信息”。
Tobias表示：“确切的情况是，《王国之泪2》将不会包含Denuvo，也不会包含任何DRM系统。我们从未确认过这一点。当然，我们进行过一些讨论，也存在一些误解和错误信息，但最终，游戏将完全不会使用Denuvo。”
他还呼吁玩家停止向开发团队发送关于游戏是否使用DRM的询问：“我希望你们就此结束此事，停止在我们的每条帖子下询问‘游戏里是否有Denuvo？’”。他补充说，“只要Warhorse没有正式宣布任何消息”，关于《王国之泪2》的任何传闻都是“不真实的”。
DRM经常与游戏性能问题联系在一起，因此玩家对其在游戏中的集成感到担忧。特别是Denuvo，它也作为一种反盗版软件来保护游戏代码，并不总是受到玩家，尤其是PC玩家的欢迎，因为有人声称该DRM工具会在某种程度上导致游戏无法正常运行。
Denuvo的产品经理Andreas Ullmann也回应了该工具收到的批评。在一次采访中，Ullmann表示，游戏社区对Denuvo的负面看法源于错误信息和确认偏差，并补充说，对其使用的强烈反对非常有害。
《王国之泪2》将于2025年2月登陆PC、PS5和Xbox Series X|S平台。《王国之泪2》的故事背景设定在中世纪波希米亚，围绕着一位正在学习锻造的铁匠亨利展开，讲述了他目睹村庄遭受毁灭性打击的故事。在《王国之泪2》Kickstarter众筹活动中，至少捐赠200美元的粉丝将获得游戏免费拷贝。
