LEGO has unveiled its most ambitious Jurassic World set to date: a colossal T-rex skeleton that extends over three feet in length. This impressive set includes minifigures of Dr. Ellie Sattler and Dr. Alan Grant, beloved characters from the original Jurassic Park film where the skeleton is prominently featured in the visitor center. Priced at $249.99, the set will be available starting March 12 for LEGO Insiders (sign up for free here) and March 15 for the general public at the LEGO Store.

Designed for enthusiasts aged 18 and above, this set is more about display than play. With 3,145 pieces, it may incorporate advanced building techniques that could challenge younger builders. While photos can't fully convey its scale, the included minifigures of Dr. Grant and Dr. Sattler offer a sense of proportion. The skeleton's skull closely resembles the LEGO T-rex skull set, which is currently available and looks fantastic (my son built it, and it's a real showpiece). However, the full skeleton significantly enhances the overall impact of this new set.

The T-rex skeleton features articulated joints, allowing for various posing options. You can move the head, open the jaw, and adjust the arms and tail to create dynamic displays. While the LEGO Jurassic World collection may not be as extensive as the LEGO Star Wars or LEGO Harry Potter lines, it is rapidly expanding. As a fan, I'm excited to see more adult-oriented sets like this T-rex skeleton being added to the lineup.
