One More Level, the studio behind the acclaimed Ghostrunner series, has unveiled a new project: Cyber Slash. Known for their fast-paced, brutal action games, One More Level is shifting gears with this title, set in a dark, alternate-history Napoleonic era.

While the studio is also developing Project Swift (slated for a 2028 release), the newly revealed image strongly suggests a focus on Cyber Slash.

Cyber Slash promises an epic reimagining of the early 19th century, pitting legendary heroes against terrifying, unknown forces. The gameplay will maintain a challenging, action-oriented approach, but will depart from the Souls-like mechanics of Ghostrunner. While parrying and exploiting enemy weaknesses remain key, the protagonist will undergo mutations throughout the game, adding a unique evolution element. The Ghostrunner games, known for their high critical acclaim (averaging 81% and 79% for the first game, and 80% and 76% for the sequel), set a high bar for One More Level; Cyber Slash aims to build upon that legacy with a fresh and exciting new setting and gameplay mechanics.
