Marvel Debunks AI Rumors in 'Fantastic Four' Poster Controversy
Marvel denies AI involvement in "Fantastic Four: First Steps" poster creation, despite fan speculation. The marketing campaign launched this week with a trailer teaser and several posters, one of which sparked controversy.
The poster, shown below, features a man seemingly missing a finger. While some speculate the finger is hidden behind a flagpole, others attribute the anomaly to poor Photoshop work rather than AI generation. Further fueling the debate are claims of duplicated faces, inconsistent gaze directions, and oddly proportioned limbs within the poster.
A Disney/Marvel representative confirmed to IGN that AI was not used in the poster's creation. The four-fingered man remains unexplained, with possibilities ranging from a post-production error to a simple oversight in editing. The repeated faces might be a result of common digital techniques used for background actors, rather than AI generation.
