Marvel Rivals: How to Play Mister Fantastic
Marvel Rivals delivers an exceptional hero-shooter experience, boasting diverse gameplay across its extensive roster and stunning visuals. As the game evolves, new characters will continuously be added, enriching the strategic depth. Season 1 introduces iconic heroes from the Fantastic Four, including the remarkable Mister Fantastic.
Among Marvel Rivals' diverse cast, Mister Fantastic stands out as a formidable duelist. His agility and damage contribution rely heavily on his ability to quickly reposition using his unique grappling and pulling mechanics, allowing him to engage both allies and enemies strategically. The introduction of each new duelist inevitably reshapes the meta, making their impact on various maps unpredictable.

Mister Fantastic’s Primary Attack in Marvel Rivals
Effective duelists in Marvel Rivals require a strong primary attack. Mister Fantastic's Stretch Punch, while lacking a secondary attack type, offers surprising versatility. This three-hit combo uses a single fist for the first two strikes, culminating in a powerful two-handed final blow.
Its versatility stems from the ability to deal damage throughout the stretched arm's trajectory, affecting all enemies encountered. This allows for effective area-of-effect damage using only his primary attack, a significant advantage. Similar multi-target capabilities are seen in Storm's piercing Wind Blade attack.
Mister Fantastic’s Abilities in Marvel Rivals
Mister Fantastic possesses a range of abilities best explored in the training room. Each ability contributes to a damage-boosting passive, culminating in a fearsome offensive potential when fully charged. Beyond his abilities, key stats like health and Elasticity should be monitored.
He starts with 350 health but utilizes shields for enhanced survivability, exceeding expectations for a duelist. Elasticity, displayed near the crosshair, is crucial. Each basic attack generates 5 Elasticity, with 100 being the optimal target. Mister Fantastic has a 3-star difficulty rating, making him challenging for beginners but ultimately accessible to all players.
Reflexive Rubber
- Active Ability
- 12 seconds
Mister Fantastic transforms into a rectangular shape, absorbing all incoming damage. Upon expiry, he unleashes the stored damage in the direction of the player's reticle.
Flexible Elongation
- Active Ability
- 3 seconds
- 30 Elasticity Generated
This ability grants a shield, boosting health from 350 to 425. He pulls himself towards a target, dealing damage to enemies or providing a shield to allies, offering tactical flexibility in both offensive and defensive situations. It has two charges.
Distended Grip
- Active Ability
- 6 seconds
- 30 Elasticity Generated
Distended Grip allows Mister Fantastic to grapple a target, presenting three options: Dash (pulls him towards the target without a shield), Impact (deals damage), or a combination of both. Grappling a second enemy allows him to slam them together, damaging both.
Wedded Harmony
- Team-Up Ability
- 20 seconds
Only available with Invisible Woman on the team, this ability heals Mister Fantastic for lost health (without providing shields), improving his survivability between shield uses.
Elastic Strength
- Passive Ability
Each ability use builds Elasticity, increasing damage output. At maximum Elasticity, Mister Fantastic transforms, gaining significantly increased damage and a substantial shield. The shield decays before he reverts, but a portion remains. He cannot use other abilities in this inflated state.
Brainiac Bounce
- Ultimate Ability
Mister Fantastic leaps and repeatedly crashes down in a marked area, dealing damage, particularly effective against clustered enemies.
Tips for Playing Mister Fantastic in Marvel Rivals
Mister Fantastic's damage mitigation and shield access make him surprisingly tanky. His passive further enhances his survivability.
Flexible Reflection
Combining Flexible Elongation and Reflexive Rubber provides both the player and an ally with shields while simultaneously tanking enemy attacks. The subsequent damage release can overwhelm opponents.
Rushing Reflexive Rubber
Using Reflexive Rubber strategically, even when not focused on building the passive, maximizes the inflated state’s damage and objective control. Shield stacking with Flexible Elongation can boost health to a staggering 950.
