Marvel Rivals, the acclaimed hero shooter, is a smash hit on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. However, NetEase, the developer, has previously ruled out a Nintendo Switch release due to performance limitations. But what about the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2?

Recent discussions with Marvel Rivals producer Weicong Wu at the DICE Summit in Las Vegas offer a glimmer of hope for Switch fans. Wu stated that NetEase is actively engaging with Nintendo, acquiring development kits, and exploring a potential Switch 2 port. The primary reason for excluding the original Switch was the inability to deliver a satisfactory gameplay experience. Should the Switch 2's capabilities allow for optimal performance, a release is a strong possibility.

The Nintendo Switch 2, officially unveiled last month, promises enhanced power and features compared to its predecessor. Rumored mouse-like controller functionality could potentially enhance the shooter experience, bringing it closer to PC controls. However, the precise implementation remains unclear.

While a release date for the Switch 2 is yet to be announced (a Nintendo Direct is scheduled for April 2nd), Marvel Rivals is currently available on other platforms.
