The highlight of the event is the new game mode, Clash of Dancing Lions, where teams of three players compete to score a ball in their opponents' goal.

While many might draw comparisons to Rocket League due to the similar ball-scoring mechanics, Clash of Dancing Lions actually bears a stronger resemblance to Lucioball, the inaugural special game mode from Overwatch, which itself was inspired by Rocket League. This comparison is particularly noteworthy because Marvel Rivals is currently seen as surpassing Overwatch in several aspects. To establish a unique identity and distance itself from the Blizzard title, Marvel Rivals needs to introduce original content. However, the first major event introduces a mode strikingly similar to Overwatch's initial event, with the key difference being the thematic setting. Overwatch's event was themed around the Olympic Games, while Marvel Rivals' event embraces strong Chinese cultural elements.
