Nexus Mods, a popular modding website, is facing backlash after removing over 500 Marvel's Avengers mods in a single month. The controversy centers on the removal of two mods that replaced Captain America's head with images of Joe Biden and Donald Trump.

The platform's owner, TheDarkOne, clarified on Reddit that both mods were removed simultaneously to prevent accusations of political bias. However, this explanation hasn't quelled the outrage, with TheDarkOne reporting receiving numerous death threats and hateful messages following the removals.

This isn't the first time Nexus Mods has sparked controversy over mod removals. A previous incident involved the removal of a Spider-Man Remastered mod that replaced rainbow flags with American flags. The platform's stance on inclusivity and its rejection of content deemed discriminatory were explicitly stated at that time.

TheDarkOne's concluding statement reflects a firm stance against the controversy: the platform will not engage with those protesting the removals. The situation highlights the ongoing tension between freedom of expression within modding communities and platform moderation policies.
