Dev Talk 11: Seasonal Rank Adjustments Revised

Marvel Rivals has officially retracted its plan for mid-season rank resets, as announced in Dev Talk 11 on their Twitter (X) account. This follows considerable player backlash after Dev Talk 10 outlined a system that would demote players four divisions midway through the season. Players voiced concerns about the demotion's discouraging effect on their progress.

Dev Talk 11 confirms that there will be no mid-season rank reset. Players will retain their ranks and scores from the first half of the season. However, the end-of-season reset remains, with players dropping six divisions.

Human Torch, The Thing, and More Still Coming

Despite the change regarding mid-season resets, other updates are proceeding as planned. The highly anticipated release of Human Torch and The Thing is still on track, expanding the hero roster to 39. NetEase Games continues to aim for two new playable characters per three-month season.

Rewards for players who reach Gold rank and above remain unchanged. Players achieving Gold rank will receive a free Invisible Woman costume, while Grandmaster and above will receive Crests of Honor. Further rewards, including another free costume and Crests of Honor for Grandmaster and above, will be awarded at the end of the season.

Balance adjustments are also planned for a post-mid-season update, though specifics are yet to be revealed.

Marvel Rivals' swift response to player concerns is noteworthy. Within hours of publishing Dev Talk 10, they addressed the feedback and released Dev Talk 11.
