Empire of Eternal Night: Midtown

Empire of Eternal Night: Midtown was the first new map to be released in Marvel Rivals Season 1, launching at the start of the season. This map is designed for the Convoy mode, where players either escort or attempt to stop a moving vehicle as it travels across the map. It joins Yggsgard: Yggdrasill Path and Tokyo 2099: Spider-Islands as the third Convoy map in Rivals.

Set under the eerie glow of Dracula’s Blood Moon, Empire of Eternal Night: Midtown brings a dark twist to New York City. The map features several Points of Interest, blending iconic Marvel locations with real-world Midtown Manhattan landmarks:

Empire of Eternal Night: The Mystical Sanctum Santorum

The Empire of Eternal Night version of Doctor Strange’s Sanctum Santorum was added to Marvel Rivals in Season 1. This map is exclusively used for the Doom Match mode, a free-for-all deathmatch where players fight to survive and eliminate others. Those in the top half of the leaderboard at the end of the match earn wins, with the overall best player receiving the MVP title.

The Sanctum Santorum map beautifully captures Doctor Strange’s mystical mansion, which serves as his home and headquarters. Introduced in a 1963 comic, the Sanctum Santorum gained fame through its appearances in the MCU. In Marvel Rivals, it acts as Earth’s supernatural defense hub. The map is filled with secrets and Easter eggs, including supernatural rooms, impossible ceilings, portals, and an infinite staircase. Players can also interact with Bats The Ghost Dog on the map.

Empire of Eternal Night: Central Park

Details about the Central Park map are still emerging, as it is set to launch in the latter part of Marvel Rivals Season 1. Located in Manhattan between the Upper West and East Side neighborhoods, Central Park has been a setting in various Marvel properties, most recently in the 2023 Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 video game.

In Marvel Rivals, the Central Park map will focus on a stylized version of Belvedere Castle, situated at one of the park's highest points. This Gothic architectural gem is expected to serve as a thematic backdrop for the Empire of Eternal Night, potentially as a hideout for Dracula within New York City.
