Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater Release Date Officially Confirmed

As anticipated, the release date for Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater was officially confirmed during Sony's State of Play 2025 broadcast, alongside the unveiling of a new trailer. The game is set to launch on August 28, 2025. This date had already been leaked last week through the PlayStation Store, which also made the trailer available ahead of the official announcement.

During the event, an exciting collaboration with Ape Escape was teased, hinting at nostalgic elements from the original Metal Gear Solid 3. This collaboration includes a reference to the classic monkey minigame where Snake used stun grenades and his 'Monkey Shaker' gun. Additionally, a message stating "And More" was displayed, suggesting that further crossovers might be on the horizon for the game.

While Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater introduces a new first-person perspective, it remains a faithful recreation of the original game. IGN's preview of Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater noted, "Metal Gear Solid Delta seems more like a very shiny HD remaster than the elegant remake it could have been. It’s an admittedly beautiful nostalgia trip, but almost faithful to a fault."
