However, he also expressed openness to creating a "spiritual successor" to Minecraft. The poll overwhelmingly favored the Minecraft-inspired option, garnering 81.5% of nearly 287,000 votes. Given Minecraft's enduring popularity (45-50 million daily players), this isn't surprising.

In a subsequent post, Notch confirmed his seriousness, essentially declaring a "Minecraft 2" announcement. He acknowledged the desire for a new Minecraft-like game and his renewed passion for development.
