Monster Hunter Now Tests New Monster Outbreaks Feature

Exciting developments are brewing in Monster Hunter Now, with Niantic introducing a new feature called Monster Outbreaks. This feature is currently in a testing phase, and they are eager to gather player feedback to refine it before a full launch.

When Is the Monster Outbreaks Testing in Monster Hunter Now?

The testing phase for Monster Outbreaks is scheduled from April 26th to April 27th, with testing sessions occurring twice daily. On both Saturday and Sunday, you can participate from 10:00 to 10:59 a.m. and again from 3:00 to 3:59 p.m., based on your local time.

During these designated times, specific outbreak points on the map will be teeming with 8-star Black Diablos. The challenge is to collaborate with other players to defeat 100 of these formidable creatures at each outbreak location within the one-hour window. Note that the 100 monsters must be taken down at the specific outbreak point, not globally.

To participate, you must be at least Hunter Rank (HR) 11. Additionally, you cannot use the party feature; only in-person group hunts will count toward the goal.

Outbreak points are clearly marked on the map with a distinctive icon. Tapping on these icons will reveal further details, and a sign-up roster at each location allows players to coordinate their hunting times.

The challenge of reaching the slay count is intriguing. If you hunt with three other players and successfully take down a Black Diablos, it counts as four toward the 100 monster goal.

Should your group reach the 100 monster mark before the time expires, you can continue hunting for the remainder of the hour. Only Black Diablos will spawn during these outbreaks.

Rewards are on offer for successful groups. If you hit the 100 monster target, you'll earn 3 Black Diablos Tailcases, 3 Ridges, 3 Primeshells, 3 Marrows, and 2,000 Zenny. Using the sign-up roster also makes you eligible for the special Outbreak Test I Medal.

Interested in joining the action? Download Monster Hunter Now from the Google Play Store and take part in the Monster Outbreaks testing over the weekend.
