Capcom has unveiled a new feature in *Monster Hunter Wilds* that lets players customize the appearance of their hunter and Palico. The initial edit comes at no cost, but any further modifications require the purchase of Character Edit Vouchers. These vouchers are offered in sets of three for $6, or you can opt for a comprehensive package covering both characters for $10. Without these vouchers, your customization options are limited to hairstyles, eyebrow color, makeup, and clothing—core facial features remain unchanged.

This monetization strategy was kept under wraps during the game's early previews and was only revealed last week through Capcom's social media platforms. Despite the controversy surrounding microtransactions and some performance hiccups, *Monster Hunter Wilds* smashed records, boasting over 1.3 million concurrent players on Steam at its launch.

Capcom has yet to respond to the community's feedback on this decision. Fans have voiced their discontent with the new paid customization model, drawing unfavorable comparisons to earlier installments in the series where such changes were free or could be earned through in-game currency. Many feel this approach detracts from what was once a cherished aspect of the franchise.
