A New Monster Enters the Fray

Missed the first Monster Hunter Wilds Open Beta? Fear not! A second Open Beta Test is scheduled for the first two weeks of February.

Following the success of the initial beta, this second phase provides another opportunity to experience the game before its official February 28th launch. Producer Ryozo Tsujimoto announced the news via a video on the official Monster Hunter YouTube channel.

The beta will run in two sessions: February 6th-9th and February 13th-16th, available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. This time around, it includes new content, such as the huntable Gypceros, a familiar foe from the series.

Character data from the first beta is transferable to this beta and, subsequently, the full game (though progress won't carry over). Beta participants receive in-game rewards: a Stuffed Felyne Teddy weapon charm, and a bonus item pack to aid early gameplay.

"Many players missed the first beta or wanted a second chance," Tsujimoto explained. "The team is diligently working on the full game's final touches." While a pre-launch community update video detailed upcoming improvements, these won't be included in this beta.
