Monster Hunter Wilds Seasons and Weather, Explained
In *Monster Hunter Wilds’* Forbidden Lands, seasons and weather aren't just pretty visuals; they're dynamic gameplay elements. The two main seasons, Fallow and Plenty, drastically alter the environment and challenge. Let's dive into how they impact your hunt.
Monster Hunter Wilds Seasons: Fallow and Plenty

The game begins in the harsh Fallow season. Expect challenging weather, scarce resources, and aggressive monsters frequently battling each other. Survival is paramount. In contrast, the Plenty season offers a warmer, lush environment brimming with resources. Monsters are less hostile, and gathering materials is significantly easier. This bountiful season is a welcome change for both hunters and villagers alike.
Between these seasons, intense weather events known as Inclemency occur. These create dramatic backdrops for epic battles, particularly against Apex Predators. The Pinnacle of the Pack assignment, for example, pits you against the Alpha Doshaguma during a fierce sandstorm.
Checking the Season and Weather

The game provides convenient ways to track the current season and weather. The HUD's bottom-left corner displays icons indicating the time of day and season. For a more detailed overview, consult your map. Press the prompted button to access the Environment Overview, providing comprehensive weather and seasonal information. Optional Quests also feature specific times and seasons, transporting you to those environments regardless of the current in-game conditions.
Changing the Season and Weather
The impact of Fallow and Plenty on hunting strategies is undeniable. Fortunately, you can manipulate the seasons. To change the season and weather, set up your tent and select "Rest" from the BBQ Menu. This allows you to adjust the environment and time before waking up.
However, this convenience comes at a cost. Resting requires 300 Guild Points and is only available to High-Rank Hunters. Furthermore, you cannot rest during an active quest.
That's a comprehensive overview of seasons and weather in *Monster Hunter Wilds*. Mastering these elements is key to a successful hunt.
*Monster Hunter Wilds is available now on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC.*
