Netmarble's popular action RPG, King of Fighters ALLSTAR, is closing its doors this October. The announcement, made on Netmarble's official forums, confirms the game's shutdown on October 30th, 2024. In-app purchases have already been disabled, ceasing on June 26th, 2024.

This news comes as a surprise to many, considering the game's longevity and generally positive reception. King of Fighters ALLSTAR enjoyed a successful run of over six years, featuring numerous popular fighting game crossovers and building upon the legacy of SNK's King of Fighters franchise. Players praised its impressive animations and competitive PvP modes.

While the developers hinted at a potential shortage of characters to adapt as a contributing factor, the reasons behind the shutdown remain largely unstated. Further contributing to the closure, the game experienced recent optimization problems and occasional crashes, leading to player frustration.
