According to Variety, Cage, accepting the Best Actor award for his role in Dream Scenario, used the platform to voice his concerns.

He expressed gratitude to the film's director, Kristoffer Borgli, but then shifted his focus to the burgeoning AI landscape. Cage stated his belief that allowing robots to dictate artistic expression is detrimental, arguing that "robots cannot reflect the human condition." He warned that even minimal AI manipulation of a performance will ultimately compromise the integrity and authenticity of the art, prioritizing financial gain over artistic merit.

Cage emphasized the crucial role of art – and acting in particular – in reflecting the human experience through genuine emotional and intellectual processes, a task he believes AI is incapable of accomplishing. He foresees a future devoid of genuine human connection and emotional resonance if AI is allowed to dominate artistic creation, predicting a homogenized, robotic representation of life. He urged his fellow actors to resist AI interference, advocating for the protection of authentic and honest artistic expression.

The filmmaking community is also divided on the issue. While director Tim Burton expressed his unease with AI-generated art, Zack Snyder (Justice League, Rebel Moon) has advocated for embracing AI's potential instead of resisting its integration.
