From special novels to exhibitions and concerts, the franchise is set to engage fans across various platforms. Square Enix Announced NieR 15th Anniversary Special Novel

Square Enix marked NieR's 15th Anniversary with a series of exciting announcements during the livestream on April 19. Among the highlights was the introduction of the online Special Novel, [U]ndecided Option. This novel will be updated in three parts, with the first already available and the subsequent updates scheduled for April 25 and May 2. The novel's storyline teases an intriguing encounter, stating, "Such a 'servant' meets a mysterious boy with a mysterious air and is guided."

To complement the novel, Square Enix launched a dedicated 15th Anniversary website, serving as the central hub for this and other upcoming projects and events.

Exhibition, Concerts, Merchandise, and More

Square Enix is set to host an exhibition at Sunshine City in Ikebukuro, Japan, showcasing new artwork featuring protagonists from Replicant, Automata, and Re[in]carnation. Details on tickets and more will be shared soon.

For fans of the series' music, additional performances of the NieR: Orchestra Concert 12024 are planned in Osaka on July 25 and 26, and in Tokyo on August 2 and 3. Tickets are available through a lottery system, with further information on the official concert website.

Merchandise enthusiasts have plenty to look forward to as well. An album featuring new jazz arrangements from NieR: Dinner Show – Somethin' or Other 12024 will be released in December 2024. Additionally, the NieR Weapon Story book, containing over 650 stories about weapons from Replicant, Automata, and Re[in]carnation, and scale figures of the series' protagonists will be available.

Re[in]carnation Developer Blog

Starting April 28, NieR Re[in]carnation, the franchise's first mobile title, will launch a monthly developer blog series, running through the end of the year. These blogs will provide a behind-the-scenes look at the game's development process.

Originally released in January 2021, Re[in]carnation was shut down in April 2024 due to monetization challenges. The decision to start a developer blog post-shutdown has sparked speculation about a possible sequel or remake, though no official announcements have been made.

The livestream concluded with an over 20-minute live performance featuring soundtracks from the entire NieR franchise. Square Enix promises more exciting events and merchandise announcements in the near future, ensuring fans have much to look forward to as the celebration continues.
