The long-awaited details on the Nintendo Switch 2 have finally been unveiled, and the specifications are more impressive than many anticipated. The system supports up to 120fps and can reach 4K resolution when docked, marking a significant upgrade over its predecessor.

In today's Nintendo Switch 2 Direct, Nintendo showcased various features of the new console. The Nintendo Switch 2 boasts a larger 7.9-inch screen, maintaining the same thickness of 13.9mm as the original Switch. With approximately double the pixels, it supports a 1080p resolution at up to 120fps in handheld mode, and features an LCD screen with HDR capability. When docked, the console can also support 4K resolution with HDR.

The Joy-Con 2 controllers have been updated with magnetic connections and a release button on the back for easy detachment. The SL and SR buttons on the sides are larger, enhancing playability in horizontal mode, while the left and right sticks are also bigger. A notable addition is the introduction of mouse control support within the Joy-Con controllers.

The handheld version of the Nintendo Switch 2 includes a built-in microphone with noise-canceling technology and supports 3D audio for compatible games. It also features a more robust and adjustable stand compared to the original Switch, along with a top USB port for external camera connectivity or charging the system in tabletop mode.

Additionally, the Nintendo Switch 2 comes equipped with 256GB of internal storage, providing ample space for gamers.
