Paradox has shared initial details about the upcoming Crusader Kings 3 expansion centered on nomadic rulers. The DLC introduces a distinctive governance system for nomadic societies, featuring a new currency called "herd" that shapes a ruler’s authority. This currency influences multiple gameplay aspects, including military power, cavalry formations, lord-vassal dynamics, and other core mechanics.

Nomadic chieftains rely on constant migration to sustain their way of life. Their movements will depend on various factors, such as negotiating with local communities or displacing them from their territories.

Rulers will also gain access to portable yurts, similar to those used by adventurers. These yurts can be upgraded with components that offer a range of benefits.

The DLC will include unique yurt towns that nomadic leaders carry with them, mirroring adventurer camps. These settlements can be enhanced with additional structures to serve various purposes.
