Unveiled at Tokyo Game Show 2024's Xbox showcase, Threads of Time is currently in development for Xbox Series X/S and Steam. While a release date remains unannounced, PS5 and Nintendo Switch versions are yet to be confirmed.
Generating considerable buzz, Threads of Time is poised to compete with Sea of Stars as a spiritual successor to Square Enix's Chrono series. Riyo Games' debut title promises a captivating retro-style experience.
"Riyo Games aims to create retro-inspired RPGs that evoke cherished childhood memories," the studio stated in its press release. "Our journey began with a childhood promise – two friends playing RPGs on a CRT TV, dreaming of one day crafting their own fantastical adventures."
Boasting stunning 2.5D pixel art, Threads of Time features a diverse cast of characters from various eras. Players will journey through centuries, from dinosaurs to robots, uncovering a sinister plot threatening the very fabric of time. The pixel art is complemented by high-quality anime cutscenes enhancing the narrative.
