Dungeonborne, the PvPvE action game drawing inspiration from the popular Dark and Darker, is shutting down. Less than a year after launch, the developers have announced the end of support and the closure of its servers, citing low player activity and a lack of substantial updates as the primary reasons.

While the game's Steam page remains accessible via direct link, it's no longer discoverable through the platform's search function. Specific reasons for the shutdown haven't been publicly released, but the dwindling player base is clearly a significant factor. Concurrent player counts plummeted to below 200 in late 2024, and recently dwindled to a mere 10-15 players.

Dungeonborne's servers will officially close on May 28th, bringing a premature end to this ambitious project. Despite initial interest from fans of the genre, the game will ultimately remain unrealized in its full potential.
