Onimusha: Way of the Sword unveiled its protagonist, Miyamoto Musashi, whose striking resemblance to the legendary Toshiro Mifune was achieved through meticulous character modeling by Capcom. The trailer depicts Musashi's valiant, and occasionally humorous, battles against demons that have invaded Kyoto from the underworld.

Musashi, empowered by his unwavering faith, wields the Oni Gauntlet, a mystical weapon that allows him to absorb the souls of his demonic foes. This act not only replenishes his health but also unlocks potent special abilities.
