Grinding Gear Games, the developer behind Path of Exile 2, has introduced further emergency adjustments in response to the significant community backlash against the Dawn of the Hunt update. This update, which rolled out earlier this month, brought with it a new Huntress class, five new ascension classes including the Ritualist, Amazon, Smith of Kitava, Tactician, and Lich, and a plethora of new unique items and expanded crafting options. However, the update also included heavy nerfs that led to a drastic decline in Steam user reviews, dropping them to 'mostly negative.'

The community's primary grievance was the noticeable slowdown in gameplay, which many felt turned the game into a "total slog." This sentiment was echoed in the most helpful review from the past 30 days on Steam, which criticized the extended duration of boss fights and the reduced effectiveness of skills. Other players expressed frustration over the game's stability and the perceived lack of reward relative to the increased difficulty.

In response to these criticisms, GGG has already implemented several changes and is set to release patch 0.2.0e on April 11. This patch aims to address the issues raised by the community, with specific adjustments to monster speeds, boss mechanics, player minions, and crafting systems. Key changes include:

Monster Speed Changes

• Removal of interrupt events on human monsters to prevent relentless pursuit and attacks.
• Adjustment of monster behaviors in Acts 1, 2, and 3 to reduce their speed and density.
• Reduction in the frequency of the Haste Aura modifier on fast monsters.

Boss Changes

• Reduction in the size and frequency of Chaos Rains in the Viper Napuatzi fight.
• Adjustments to Uxmal's mechanics to make the fight less frustrating.
• Improvements to Xyclucian's arena for better visibility of effects.

Player Minion Changes

• Modification of minion revive timers to prevent repeated resets to the maximum duration.
• Enhancements to the functionality of Bind Spectre and Tame Beast gems.

Other Player Balance

• Expansion of the Rally support gem's compatibility to all melee attacks.
• Fix for the Glory mechanic to prevent consumption upon interruption.
• Correction of a bug affecting the Ritualist's Blood Boils skill.

Crafting Changes

• Addition of new mods to runes for caster weapons.
• Introduction of a Blank rune at Renly's shop for elemental rune crafting.

Performance Improvements

• Optimization of ground foliage to enhance game performance.

The upcoming patch also teases further changes to be deployed post-weekend, including enhancements to the charm system, introduction of Stash Tab Affinities for better item organization, and the addition of Atlas Bookmarks for easier navigation.
