These include passive skill points, weapon set skill points, and, importantly, the Sisters of Garukhan encounter, providing a valuable +10% Lightning Resistance boost. This guide explains how to locate and activate this crucial buff.

Where To Find the Sisters of Garukhan

The Sisters of Garukhan encounter is located within the Spires of Deshar map in both Act 2 and Act 2 Cruel. Interacting with the shrine grants the +10% Lightning Resistance buff. Its understated icon on the map makes it easily overlooked.

Due to PoE 2's randomly generated maps, the shrine's exact location varies. However, it's always present within the Spires of Deshar. Thorough exploration is key. The shrine resembles the image above. Activating it triggers a combat encounter with metallic automatons. This activation simultaneously enlivens all automatons on the map.

A helpful strategy is to utilize the checkpoint near the shrine's location. If you reach the exit checkpoint first, fast travel back to avoid traversing the entire, now-hostile, map.

Claiming the +10% Lightning Resistance Buff

The +10% Lightning Resistance is applied instantly upon interacting with the Sisters of Garukhan statues. It's not a dropped item or a reward for defeating the automatons; activation is immediate upon shrine interaction.

Remember, the Sisters of Garukhan encounter appears in both Act 2 and Act 2 Cruel. Activating the shrine in both locations grants a cumulative +20% Lightning Resistance.

Troubleshooting: Why Isn't My Lightning Resistance Increasing?

Many players are puzzled to see negative elemental resistances even after activating the Sisters of Garukhan. This is due to a game mechanic: a -10% debuff to all elemental resistances is applied after each Act completion (Chaos Resistance remains unaffected).

Therefore, activating the Sisters of Garukhan in Act 2 neutralizes the Act 1 debuff, resulting in a net zero Lightning Resistance. In Act 2 Cruel, the buff partially offsets the accumulated debuff, improving your overall Lightning Resistance.

To verify the buffs are active, remove all equipment and check your resistances in the endgame. A -40% elemental resistance baseline indicates the buffs are correctly applied.
