Just when you thought the Pokémon TCG universe was already full with the Destined Rivals and Black Bolt and White Flare sets, an entirely new series arrives with Mega Brave and Mega Symphonia.

Announced at Japan's Championship tournament, as reported by PokeBeach, these two new sets feature Mega Lucario ex and Mega Gardevoir ex, marking the popular trading card game's move beyond the Scarlet and Violet era. They will launch on August 1, 2025, in Japan, and on September 26 in English-language markets, with preorders reportedly beginning on September 13.

Shifting focus away from the long-running Scarlet and Violet block, the new sets will highlight Mega Evolutions from the upcoming Pokémon Legends: Z-A video game.

Mega Brave and Mega Symphonia will each contain 63 cards (not including secret rares), officially launching the new Mega-themed block. The reveal also showcased visually stunning full-art cards for Pokémon and Trainer/Item cards, including Rare Candy, Night Stretcher, Bulbasaur, Vulpix, and Inteleon.

Reports indicate both sets will have a Pokémon Center Mega Set bundle. This includes 60 booster packs across two boxes, a card storage box featuring the respective set's cover Pokémon, four dividers, a deck box featuring Acerola or Lillie, and matching card sleeves. The bundle is priced at 12,800 yen (approximately $87 USD), though official U.S. pricing has not yet been announced.

A Premium Trainer Box is also slated for release in Japan at 6,350 yen (around $47 USD), with U.S. pricing similarly unconfirmed. This box will contain 20 booster packs (10 from each set), 51 unique cards, a storage box, Poison/Burn condition markers, damage counters with a case, and a damage counter storage box.

As PokeBeach reported in early June, The Pokémon Company informed tournament organizers that pre-release allocations will be even lower than usual, exacerbating the TCG's ongoing issue with product shortages.
