Shiny variants have made their grand entrance in the latest expansion of Pokémon Trading Card Game (TCG) Pocket, bringing over 110 new cards to the game and leaving players like me wishing we had more Hourglasses to spare on those tempting 10-pack pulls. As hinted by the expansion’s title, Shining Revelry, these dazzling new additions bring a touch of brilliance to the table, featuring Pokémon from the Paldea region among others.

No sooner did the update go live than I found myself splurging a chunk of my precious Pack Hourglasses. While I was fortunate enough to snag a Charizard EX, the haul wasn’t particularly stellar otherwise. However, pulling Pokémon Center Lady brought a modicum of relief—her ability to heal Special Conditions is nothing short of invaluable when facing pesky effects like Burn.

As usual, the latest update introduces a brand-new Emblem Event, allowing you to battle it out and earn stylish badges to show off to your friends. This time, the focus shifts to Ranked Matches, where you’ll face off against other trainers. Climb the ranks—from Beginner to Master Ball Rank—and collect points along the way. At the end of the season (approximately one month), you’ll receive an exclusive emblem to celebrate your achievements.

This means it’s high time I dusted off my old decks and started sharpening my competitive skills once again.
