Voltorb & Hisuian Voltorb Spotlight Hour

Mark your calendars! The Spotlight Hour runs from 6 PM to 7 PM Local Time on Tuesday, January 7, 2025. This week's featured Pokémon are Voltorb and Hisuian Voltorb, offering a double chance at snagging Shiny versions of both. Both Pokémon are valuable assets, delivering significant damage output in battles.

Given the two Pokémon, prepare ample Poké Balls, Berries, and Incense. You'll be catching double the usual amount! These items maximize your chances of catching Shiny Pokémon and powering them up. Also, ensure you have sufficient storage space; you'll likely be catching many Pokémon and won't want to interrupt your catching spree to transfer Pokémon.

Voltorb (#100 in the Pokédex), a Kanto region Pokémon, is tradeable and transferable to Pokémon HOME. Catching it rewards 3 candies and 100 Stardust. It's a two-stage evolution, evolving into Electrode with 50 candies. Boasting a max CP of 1141, 109 Attack, and 111 Defense, Voltorb packs a punch.

As an Electric-type Pokémon, Voltorb takes increased damage from Ground-type moves (160% damage) but reduced damage from Electric, Flying, and Steel types (63% damage). Its optimal moveset is Spark (Electric) and Discharge (Electric), yielding 5.81 DPS and 40.62 TDO. Rainy weather boosts its attack power. A blue Shiny Voltorb awaits discovery.

Hisuian Voltorb, also #100 in the Pokédex, shares Voltorb's family and stats (max CP 1141, 109 Attack, 111 Defense), tradeability, and transferability to Pokémon HOME. It also evolves into Hisuian Electrode with 50 candies, rewarding 3 candies and 100 Stardust per catch. Despite belonging to the Voltorb family, its type matchups differ. It takes increased damage from Bug, Fire, Ice, and Poison types (160% damage), while Grass, Steel, and Water types inflict reduced damage (63%), and other Electric types cause minimal damage (39%). Its best moveset is Tackle (Normal) and Thunderbolt (Electric), providing 5.39 DPS and 37.60 TDO. Partly Cloudy and Rainy weather enhance its damage output. A black Shiny Hisuian Voltorb awaits!
