Hashino, when discussing future projects, expressed a strong interest in developing a game set during Japan's Sengoku period. He envisions this historical setting as ideal for a new Japanese role-playing game (JRPG), potentially drawing inspiration from the Basara series.

Regarding Metaphor: ReFantazio, Hashino confirmed there are no immediate plans for a sequel. His current focus is on completing the existing game, a project he views as a significant undertaking for Atlus. He revealed that the game was originally conceived as a third major JRPG series alongside Persona and Shin Megami Tensei, aiming to become a flagship title for the company.

While a Metaphor: ReFantazio sequel is unlikely to be the studio's next project, an anime adaptation is under consideration. The game itself has been a resounding success for Atlus, boasting the highest concurrent player count of any Atlus game launch to date, exceeding 85,961 players. This surpasses the concurrent player counts of Persona 5 Royal (35,474) and Persona 3 Reload (45,002). Metaphor: ReFantazio is available on PC, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5.
