Relic Entertainment Unveils Earth vs. Mars
Relic Entertainment, the acclaimed developer behind Company of Heroes, is venturing into new territory with a turn-based strategy game titled Earth vs. Mars. Scheduled for release this Summer on PC via Steam, this game offers a unique twist on the genre, drawing inspiration from the beloved Nintendo DS classic Advance Wars.
In Earth vs. Mars, players are tasked with defending our planet from an alien invasion orchestrated by Martians. The gameplay revolves around the creation of "bizarre and powerful creature-human hybrids" using the innovative Splice-O-Tron. Players can craft fascinating combinations such as the Squirrel-Cow, Human-Rhino, and Cheetah-Fly to fend off the extraterrestrial threat.
According to Relic, the Martians have been secretly abducting humans and animals for years to harvest their atomic essence. Now, they've launched a full-scale invasion, and it's up to a group of resourceful commanders to lead Earth's resistance. Players will command Earth's military forces against advanced Martian technology, including saucers, grav-tanks, and elite alien warriors, in a battle for survival.

Earth vs. Mars offers a comprehensive gaming experience with over 30 missions in the single-player campaign, online multiplayer modes where players can choose either Earth or Mars factions, a VS Mode to challenge the game's AI, and a map editor for creating custom battlefields.
Relic CEO Justin Dowdeswell shared his excitement about the project, saying, "We are excited to bring a Relic Twist to the Advance Wars style of gameplay, infusing some Relic DNA, while harkening back to some of our earlier titles. Relic Entertainment recently announced a new strategy: Alongside continuing to work on the traditional RTS titles that we’re known for, we’re also going to work on smaller Indie style games in order to explore new sub-genres, experiment, get our creative juices going, and release games more frequently."
If you're intrigued by this unique blend of strategy and creativity, you can wishlist Earth vs. Mars on Steam to stay updated on its release.
