It's official: Resident Evil 9 is on its way, and we’ve just seen our first real glimpse of it during Summer Game Fest 2025.

Resident Evil Requiem arrives as a single-player survival horror title set for release on February 27, 2026, across PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S platforms.

During the SGF stage presentation, host Geoff Keighley revealed that Resident Evil Requiem represents a "bold shift for the franchise" in both tone and gameplay mechanics. Fans can expect high-stakes cinematic action alongside traditional survival horror elements.

We might be getting a brand-new playable character in FBI technical analyst Grace Ashcroft, who is investigating a string of mysterious deaths. Ordered back to the scene of her mother's murder, she must confront her past as she delves deeper into the mystery.

Grace is later seen strapped to a gurney while a mysterious figure whispers, "I know now that you're the one I've been searching for... special one. Chosen one." Is he referring to Grace?
