Freedom Wars Remastered: Enhanced Gameplay and New Features Revealed

A new trailer for Freedom Wars Remastered showcases the game's revamped gameplay and control systems, offering a fresh look at the dystopian world and its mechanical adversaries. The action RPG retains its core loop of battling Abductors, harvesting resources, and upgrading gear, but with significant enhancements. Launching January 10th on PS4, PS5, Switch, and PC, the remastered version boasts improved graphics, faster-paced combat, and a wealth of new features.

The game casts players as Sinners, condemned for the crime of being born, in a world depleted of resources. Players undertake missions for their Panopticon, their city-state, ranging from rescuing citizens and eliminating Abductors to securing control points. These missions can be tackled solo or cooperatively online.

The trailer highlights key improvements in Freedom Wars Remastered. Visually, the game receives a significant upgrade, reaching 4K resolution at 60 FPS on PS5 and PC, while PS4 offers 1080p at 60 FPS and the Switch version runs at 1080p and 30 FPS. Gameplay is faster-paced due to enhanced movement speed and improved attack cancellation mechanics.

Crafting and upgrading have also been streamlined. The remastered version features more intuitive interfaces and allows for the attachment and detachment of modules on the fly. A new module synthesis feature enables players to enhance their equipment using resources gained from rescuing citizens. Finally, a challenging "Deadly Sinner" difficulty mode caters to experienced players, and all original customization DLC from the PS Vita release is included from the outset. The enhanced visuals, refined mechanics, and additional content promise a significantly improved experience for both returning and new players.
