Robert Eggers, acclaimed for his gothic horror film Nosferatu, is set to enchant audiences with a sequel to the cherished classic, Labyrinth. According to Variety, Eggers will pen and direct this follow-up to Jim Henson's 1986 dark fantasy masterpiece, which originally featured David Bowie and Jennifer Connelly. Collaborating with Sjón, his partner from The Northman, Eggers aims to bring a fresh perspective to the magical world first crafted by Henson. Previously, a sequel was in development with Scott Derrickson at the helm, but with no progress since 2023, TriStar and Jim Henson Pictures have opted to entrust Eggers with this new venture.

Beyond the Labyrinth sequel, Eggers is also set to direct Werwulf, a werewolf movie slated for a Christmas 2026 release. This film will transport viewers to 13th century England, featuring dialogue in Old English. While details are scarce, it's safe to assume that the narrative will involve a transformation into a fearsome wolf creature.

Eggers' recent release, Nosferatu, hit theaters last Christmas. This film is a reimagining of F.W. Murnau's 1922 silent classic, set in 19th century Germany.
