Rumor: The First Specs Of The Nvidia RTX 5090 Have Leaked
Nvidia GeForce RTX 5090: 32GB GDDR7 Memory and 575W Power Draw
Leaked specifications reveal Nvidia's upcoming flagship graphics card, the RTX 5090, will pack a significant punch. Sources indicate it will feature a massive 32GB of GDDR7 video memory – double that of the anticipated RTX 5080 and 5070 Ti. However, this power comes at a cost: a hefty 575W power draw.
The RTX 5090, part of Nvidia's Blackwell generation, will be officially unveiled at CES 2025 on January 6th. This next-generation lineup, arriving over two years after the RTX 40 series, will leverage Nvidia's Tensor Cores for AI processing, along with DLSS upscaling, ray tracing, and PCIe 5.0 support. The RTX 50 series aims to succeed the RTX 40 series (including models like the discontinued RTX 4090D and RTX 4070) and compete directly against AMD's Radeon RX 9000 and Intel's Battlemage GPUs.
Inno3D's iChill X3 RTX 5090 Preview
Ahead of the official announcement, details about the RTX 5090 emerged. VideoCardz reported that Inno3D, an Nvidia AIB partner, showcased its iChill X3 RTX 5090. This triple-fan card occupies more than three expansion slots. The packaging confirmed the 32GB GDDR7 memory and the substantial 575W power requirement, a considerable jump from the RTX 4090's 450W.
High Performance, High Price
The RTX 5090's specifications are impressive, but the performance comes at a premium. Industry speculation suggests an MSRP starting at $1,999 or higher. Nvidia has yet to confirm pricing. The RTX 50 series will utilize a 16-pin power connector, with adapters readily available.
The Full RTX 50 Series Unveiling
The complete RTX 50 series, including the RTX 5080 and RTX 5070 Ti, will be revealed alongside the RTX 5090 during Nvidia's CES keynote on January 6th at 9:30 PM Eastern Time. The new generation promises significant advancements, but its ultimate impact on consumers remains to be seen.
