Sony is reportedly gearing up for its next PlayStation State of Play broadcast, expected sometime next week during Valentine's Day week (February 10th-14th), according to leaker NateTheHate, who accurately predicted the Nintendo Switch 2 reveal date. Speculation is rife about what Sony might unveil.

Considering first-party titles slated for 2025, several strong contenders emerge. Sucker Punch's Ghost of Yotei, currently with a 2025 release window, could receive a gameplay showcase and official release date. Bungie's Marathon, a PvP extraction shooter, might also appear, particularly if playtesting is planned for this year. Haven Studios' debut title, Fairgames, remains a possibility. While less likely given their later stages of development, Naughty Dog's new IP, Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet, and Insomniac's Marvel's Wolverine could also make an appearance. A new trailer for Hideo Kojima's Death Stranding 2: On the Beach (also slated for 2025) seems a more probable inclusion.

Notably absent will be the recently canceled live-service games from Bend Studio and Bluepoint Games. The latter was reportedly a God of War live-service title. However, Guerrilla Games' live-service Horizon project reportedly survived the cuts; could this be its time to shine?

Shifting to third-party announcements, Kojima Productions' Physint (a stealth-action PlayStation exclusive) might be too early for a full reveal, but Phantom Blade Zero, the action RPG from S-Game, is a stronger possibility.

Given Microsoft's growing presence on PlayStation, a release date for Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny could be announced. Could this State of Play also mark the long-awaited arrival of Halo on PlayStation? Only time will tell.

Looking back at last year’s State of Play provides further clues. It featured Death Stranding 2, Physint, Rise of the Ronin, the Until Dawn remaster, Stellar Blade, Dragon's Dogma 2, Sonic Frontiers, various Silent Hill projects, Ken Levine's Judas, Foamstars, and Helldivers 2.
