Jharrel Jerome, who stars in "Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse," has shared that production on the anticipated third film is still in the planning stages. In a recent interview with Decider, Jerome revealed, "No, I wish," when asked about the start of production. He added, "We haven’t started up yet. A lot of things being figured out, but good things."

Given the five-year gap between the first film and "Across the Spider-Verse" in 2023, many fans weren't expecting a quick turnaround for the next film. Jerome, who plays a pivotal role as Miles G. Morales from Earth-42 in the sequel, hinted at his character's significant involvement in the third movie. In a major twist at the end of "Across the Spider-Verse," Jerome's character is revealed not as Spider-Man, but as the Prowler, setting the stage for a dramatic confrontation.

In the second film, Jerome's character, Miles G. Morales from Earth-42, experiences a vastly different life from the series' protagonist. Due to a shift in realities, the radioactive spider destined for him bit the main universe's Miles instead, preventing him from becoming Spider-Man. Following the death of his universe's Peter Parker, New York fell into the hands of supervillains, and Miles G. Morales turned to villainy, becoming the Prowler.

The clash between this alternate Miles and the main Miles Morales, who did become Spider-Man, promises to be a central theme in "Beyond the Spider-Verse." However, fans will have to wait patiently for its release. According to Deadline, the earliest we might see the film is 2026, though aligning with the previous film's release timeline suggests a potential 2028 premiere.
