This information comes from Alex Smith, the former head of Bend Studio and a key figure behind the legendary Syphon Filter series.

On his X account, Smith claimed that work on the SW: KotOR Remake has been completely halted. This statement contradicts Saber Interactive's 2024 assertion that development was ongoing. According to Smith, some employees working on the project were reassigned to other tasks, while others faced layoffs. If this information is accurate, it could deliver a final blow to fans eagerly anticipating a remake of the iconic RPG.

It's important to note that Smith has a track record of sharing reliable insider information. He accurately hinted at an upcoming announcement from Housemarque, which later proved true. However, his predictions about the release dates for Death Stranding 2 and Ghost of Yotei were off the mark, suggesting that his statements should be approached with some skepticism.

As of now, official representatives from Saber Interactive and Aspyr have not commented on this information, leaving fans in limbo about the project's future.
