Rocksteady Studios has released Season 4 Episode 8, marking the final major content update for their live-service game, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League. Launched in February 2024 to largely negative reviews, the game's support will officially end on January 14, 2025. The final patch, available now on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC, brings the game's story to a close.

Despite the promising premise of controlling DC's iconic anti-heroes, the game's unexpected shift to a live-service model is believed to have contributed to its rapid decline. Just 10 months after its release, Rocksteady announced on December 9, 2024, that Season 4 Episode 8 would be the last update. However, they reassured players that all online features would remain operational, allowing continued multiplayer experiences.

Following a brief server downtime, Rocksteady has rolled out the final content update, Season 4 Episode 8: Balance. Players can now dive into this concluding chapter, featuring an Infamy Set inspired by DC Super-Villain Libra, new Notorious weapons, and a final battle against Brainiac in a new Mayhem mission. The update also includes numerous bug fixes and gameplay enhancements, such as reduced XP requirements for Squad Levels.

Even after the servers remain active post-Season 4 Episode 8, players can enjoy the game offline, thanks to the offline mode introduced in Season 4 Episode 7. This allows access to the main campaign and all seasonal story missions without an internet connection. Although Rocksteady has not announced plans to shut down the servers, the offline mode ensures continued playability should that happen.

For those who missed out on the game during its brief run, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is now available on PlayStation Plus until February 3, alongside The Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe and Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit Remastered.
