What is the Project About?

Image: ensigame.com
Let's be honest, the story is… predictable. But that's not why we play *Monster Hunter*. Our protagonist finally speaks, but the AI-written dialogue is… noticeable. We endure this for six chapters.

The real draw is the thrilling monster hunts. The protagonist (male or female) explores uncharted lands, spurred by the discovery of a boy named Nata in the desert—the sole survivor of a tribe attacked by a "White Ghost."

While the story is more structured than previous entries, it remains secondary. The game's linearity can become tiring after about ten hours of gameplay.

The 15-20 hour campaign feels like an obstacle for those focused on hunting. Thankfully, most dialogue is skippable.

Hunting itself is streamlined. Visible wounds appear on monsters; destroying them deals massive damage. Parts are automatically collected—a welcome simplification. New rideable pets, like Seikret, offer instant transport and even rescue from falls, further enhancing convenience.

Seikret's auto-navigation eliminates constant map-checking. Fast travel is also readily available. While monster health bars are absent, Seikret provides helpful status updates. Monsters utilize the environment strategically, and pack encounters add challenge. Cooperative play (or NPC assistance) is always an option.

For added challenge, mods are available.
