Nightdive Studios announces the official rebranding of their project as System Shock 2: 25th Anniversary Remaster, bringing a beloved classic back into the spotlight. This updated version will be available on PC (Steam and GOG), PlayStation 4 & 5, Xbox One & Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch.

The highly anticipated release date will be revealed on March 20, 2025, during the Future Games Show: Spring Showcase, promising a fresh experience for both longtime fans and newcomers to this iconic sci-fi RPG.

Originally released in 1999, System Shock 2 redefined the genre, expertly blending survival horror with rich RPG elements. This remaster aims to faithfully recreate the game's chilling atmosphere while enhancing it with modern graphics and improved technical performance.

Nightdive Studios, renowned for their work on the System Shock franchise, including the 2013 System Shock 2 remaster and the recent System Shock remake, initially planned a simultaneous launch with the remake. However, development challenges led to a revised release schedule.

The 2023 System Shock remake was critically acclaimed, achieving a Metacritic score of 78/100, a user score of 7.6/10, and a 91% positive rating on Steam. With the System Shock 2 remaster on the near horizon, anticipation is at an all-time high.
