"Tribe Nine Ends EOS Support Shortly After Global Launch"

May 26,25(2 months ago)

Akatsuki Games has recently announced the end of service (EOS) for their latest game, Tribe Nine. Launched just a few months ago in February across Android, iOS, and PC (via Steam), the sudden decision to shut down has left many fans in disbelief. Let's delve into the details and explore the reasons behind this surprising move.

When Is the Tribe Nine EOS?

Tribe Nine is set to officially shut down on November 27th, 2025. In addition to the closure announcement, Akatsuki Games has confirmed that Chapter 4 of the main story will not be released. This news comes right after the game started teasing significant plot developments, making the decision even more disappointing for players.

As of May 15th, all new updates, features, bug fixes, and content releases have been cancelled. This means that any previously mentioned adjustments or new features in in-game notices are no longer happening.

Two anticipated characters, Ichinosuke Akiba and Saizo Akiba, who were slated to join the roster, will not be added. Additionally, refunds will be issued for Paid Enigma Entities used on items like Armed Support, Advanced Support, and the Support Contract – Revenio. These refunds will be processed once the Revenio contract concludes.

Players will no longer be able to purchase Enigma Entities or Daily Passes, either through the app or the web store. However, existing Enigma Entities can still be used until the official shutdown of Tribe Nine.

Why Did It Fail So Soon?

Tribe Nine is a free-to-play extreme action RPG known for its unique style and worldbuilding. Despite its quality, the game faced challenges from the outset.

The game suffered from a very slow release schedule, with only one story chapter and one event being released over three months. Furthermore, there was little incentive for players to spend money. Players could build a solid team with just one pull, and duplicates were not necessary, which was advantageous for players but detrimental to the developers' revenue.

It seems that the decision to implement a gacha system was a risky move for Tribe Nine, and unfortunately, it did not pay off. Despite the impending closure, the game remains playable until November 27th. If you haven't yet, you can still check it out on the Google Play Store.
