Unlocking Every Weapon in Dynasty Warriors: Origins

Unlike previous Dynasty Warriors titles featuring multiple playable characters with unique weapon sets, Dynasty Warriors: Origins offers a single protagonist who unlocks a diverse arsenal throughout the game. This guide details how to acquire each weapon.

Weapon Acquisition Guide

While you start with a sword, additional weapons are earned by defeating specific enemy officers during missions. All nine main weapons can typically be obtained before completing Chapter 3, although the exact timing depends on which officers you defeat. Here's a breakdown of my weapon acquisition order:

• Sword: Your starting weapon.
• Spear: Acquired after completing the Battle of Guangyang in Chapter 1 (requires purchase for story progression).
• Gauntlets: Earned by defeating Zhou Cang during the Battle of Guangzong in Chapter 1.
• Wheels: Obtained by defeating Zhang Ju in the Suppression of You Province mission in Chapter 2.
• Podao: This weapon is carried by several officers in the Subjugation of the White Wave Bandits mission (Chapter 2). Defeat any one of them to unlock it.
• Staff: Found within a secret passage and treasure chamber during the Assassination of Dong Zhuo mission (Chapter 2). Defeat the officer guarding it.
• Twin Pike: Earned by defeating Zhang Liao in the Battle of Hulao Gate (Chapter 2).
• Lance: This requires defeating an officer wielding the Lance in the Battle of Xu Province (Chapter 2). Note: The officer's allegiance will depend on whether you side with Cao Cao or Liu Bei.
• Crescent Blade: Unlocked sometime during Chapter 3, after aligning with a specific faction. The exact mission varies depending on your choices.

Bonus Weapon: The Halberd

A final, powerful weapon—the halberd—awaits after completing the main campaign. Defeating Lu Bu in the Battle of Hulao Gate unlocks this formidable weapon, considered by many to be the game's best.
