Snapchat's 2024 Year in Review: Your Snap Recap

Looking back on the year? Many apps offer year-end recaps, and Snapchat is no exception. Their new 2024 Snap Recap feature provides a fun, visual summary of your year on the platform.

What is a Snap Recap?

Unlike detailed statistical recaps like Spotify Wrapped, Snap Recap offers a more casual look back. It selects a single Snap from each month of 2024, creating a slideshow of your memories. This isn't a data-driven analysis; it's a curated collection of moments. The recap seamlessly transitions into your other Snapchat Memories, allowing you to explore past events.

How to View Your 2024 Snap Recap

Accessing your recap is simple. On the main Snapchat camera screen, swipe up to open Memories. You'll find your 2024 Snap Recap prominently displayed as a highlighted video.

Tap the recap (avoiding the share icon) to start the slideshow. The snaps play automatically, but you can tap the screen to advance through them. You can save, edit, share, or add your recap to your Story, just like any other Snap. Privacy settings apply as usual.

Why Don't I Have a Snapchat Recap?

If your 2024 Snap Recap isn't appearing, don't worry. Snapchat confirms a staggered rollout. It's possible yours is still being generated. The number of saved Snaps is a factor in whether a recap is created; infrequent use might prevent one from appearing. Unfortunately, you can't request a recap if it doesn't automatically generate.
